Facial Reflexology works on the same principle as the feet. It focuses on the reflex points on the face to stimulate the body’s healing mechanisms which improve circulation and encourage the release and removal of toxins from the body via the lymphatic system.
Reflex points in the face connect to and help balance the whole body.
Dr William Fitzgerald studied Native Americans and how they used pressure points to relieve pain. He charted 10 zones starting at the crown of the head, 5 zones on each side of the face and each side of the body.
The close proximity of the face to the brain and cranial nerves make Facial Reflexology extremely effective as it works on all of the body’s systems by directly connecting to neuro-pathways.
Facial Reflexology is very relaxing and particularly effective for reducing stress, which is one of the main contributing factors to most of today’s diseases and disorders. Most clients feel so relaxed that they fall asleep or drift into an almost hypnotic or meditative state. Facial Reflexology can benefit certain conditions such as migraines, bruxism, TMJ, bells palsy and sinus conditions, along with IBS, hormonal imbalances and anxiety.
It has the added benefit that it also promotes the production of new skin tissue and helps to improve skin tone, giving you a plumped and glowing complexion.
